Providence, RI January 15, 2016– School Safety Solution, the creator and distributor of the patented Hideaway Helper and proponent of school emergency readiness is giving back to the community with a donation of lockdown blinds for classrooms to Gilbert Stuart Middle School.
This teacher-owned and operated company sells a school-specific quick-release window treatment for classroom doors. Owners Tina Bacolas and Jill Ross recognized a need for such a device when in the classroom environment themselves. School tragedies hit way too close to home for owner Bacolas as a survivor of the Virginia Tech massacre.
“It is our goal to help every school be better prepared for such emergencies,” says Bacolas, “and by outfitting a school each year for free, we are one step closer to that goal.” Bacolas discussed the 2015 winners by adding, “We run our giveaway every fall and when I read Mr. Scott’s safety vision and goals for Gilbert Stuart, I knew our product would be a great compliment to his building safety plan.”
‘We, at the Gilbert Stuart Middle School, are extremely grateful to have been selected by Tina and the School Safety Solutions, LLC team to receive such a generous donation. In addition to being the custodians of our students’ education, we are responsible for their safety as well. With the help of School Safety Solutions we have been able to make our school a safer place, become more prepared for crisis situations, and elevate our conversations about school safety protocol in our academic community.”- James Scott, Assistant Principal.
